“Nightfall by the Sea” is a work that was created when I tried something new. Something like an abstract landscape. I was also inspired by Van Gogh and his impressionist landscape paintings. I wanted to create something similar, but in my style. So I picked one of the photos my ex-girlfriend had sent me from her time in Asia and got to work.
The photo depicts a beautiful sunset on a beach under palm trees. I can't really imagine what it must have been like to be there, but I tried to empathize with that moment and somehow convey that feeling on the canvas.
