I probably closed myself off from it and didn't feel it for most of my life except for a few moments.

For many years I was too much in my head and didn't allow myself to let go.

I also had trouble expressing my feelings in front of others.

I preferred to wear a poker face as protection against vulnerability.

There were only a few situations where I unconsciously relaxed a bit, mostly during parkour training or after a few glasses of alcohol.

After this conversation with the coach, I started looking for ways to bring joy back into my life.

I started listening to my intuition more, going out into nature and doing something for myself.

A little later, I learned to experience joy and happiness whenever I choose.

I can now find joy and happiness inside at any time.

All I have to do is "switch", and even though I sometimes feel resistance to this change from my ego, it works.

The truth is, anyone can do it.

And you too.

You might not want to hear this:

Being happy and joyful is your decision.

The only problem is in our decision that we will only be happy if… something.

We have invented a condition that must be met in order to allow ourselves to feel happiness.

I started this painting thinking it would be part of a new series about connecting with our divinity.

But then I saw a face there for the first time and decided to leave it there.

I thought it was funny.

So I gave in and painted Joy for the sake of joy.

Now I have to smile every time I see it.

It improves the mood of everyone in its presence and reminds us not to take life so seriously.

Pure joy and happiness are on the verge of divinity.

And with that, this work returns to the divine series.
